Children with asthma were found to face problems caused by their disease that can prohibit them from feeling as free as a child should be able to feel. For other people involved in the children’s lives, such as parents and siblings, friends, teachers and medical professionals, asthma also creates difficulties. All the involved people encounter interrelated problems in the management asthma.Hatch helps children to freely go through life by supporting them to manage asthma independently. Hatch allows the child to make mistakes and supports learning from these mistakes by means of playful reflection. The device assists children to ask for help in case they want it. For other involved people, Hatch improves communication and provides all involded stakeholders with clear information by means of a child specific, digital Asthma Action Plan.
